Finally, it's official: Our
long-awaited supernatural thriller 'The Mourning Portrait' will shoot
in 2010, in Western North Carolina!
Featuring the amazing Garret Dillahunt,
the brilliant Melissa Leo, and the legendary Diane Ladd, the script
was written by Paul Schattel and Patrick Green, and will be directed
by Paul Schattel.

Thanks to the good folks at NYC's Belladonna Productions, and the inimitable
Stephen Corbin, Producer, for all their help and encouragement!

The Harrow Beauty BLOG!
In this day of Twitter and torrents, of Facebook and Twitter and Linkedin
and so much more, we finally succumbed and got a blog up and running.
Detailing our various adventures here and there in the world of independent
film and video (our passion, our business), we hope to share the joys
and sorrows of being a filmmaker in this advanced day and age. We hope
to make it at least a little fun, too. Check it out
here!
Harrow Beauty and friends have completed another feature project --
Alison. Featuring the inimitable Lauren Fortuna, Alison
is about a woman coming to terms with the limitations -- perceived
and otherwise -- of her changing life. Oh yeah, she's pregnant, too.

Harrow Beauty's Paul Schattel was recently
asked to photograph the latest music video from the NYC-based recording
artist BITCH.
Discovered by Ani DiFranco, Bitch is a wonderfully energetic performer
who mixes politics, sexuality and a fiery musical sensibility (not
to mention her wonderful ways with an electric violin). What an incredible
team of folks to work with!

Paul Schattel recently shot and edited the four HD camera
Hard Hat Comedy Show, for Volvo Rents and

blue collar comics, the show was a resounding success, and will be
featured in Volvo Rents facilities across the country. ...
Paul Schattel recently returned from
Alaska, South Dakota and the great American city of El Paso, TX (our
new favorite town), shooting HD and SD for for several government
projects that will actually do some good. Working with Rock Creek
Productions and Two Feathers Media, Schattel shot and directed for
several months in the Great Plains, the Southwest and the Northwest.
Word to the wise: It gets hot in the desert. Bring a hat. Seriously,
it feels good to work on various pieces that actually will save lives
...
Other recent projects: An extensive
e-learning series for online training, a fun helicopter shoot (part
of an ongoing project for a Western North Carolina real estate company),
a documentary for the Robert Moog (yes, that Moog) Foundation, and
a rainy day's HD shoot in Gatlinburg (uhh, no comment).
Schattel also recently returned from
Bavaria, where he and several other talented shooters documented Volvo
Construction's North American Dealers Conference. Held in Salzburg,
Austria and Munich, Germany, the conference was held in conjunction
with BAUMA, the world's largest construction trade show. Can you say,
'big tractors'? It was a great time.
Harrow Beauty was recently asked to
produce and direct a pilot for the upcoming "Pet Detectives" series,
for the Discovery Network's "Animal Planet" channel.
Learn more about it in the NEWS

Harrow Beauty's Paul Schattel has also
been busy directing and producing various segments of The Learning
Channel's Trading Spaces television show.
Philadelphia's Banyan Productions recently

shot recently in those cities.
Look for the episodes to air in early
December!
